Website That Help You Get Designer Wedding Dresses for Less

The list of apps, trinkets and technologically advanced products that can assist you in planning a wedding grows daily. There's always something new down the pipeline to make the process more efficient, streamlined and/or cost effective. But today we're going to highlight something so decidedly "old school" even the 50+ crowd could navigate it with little to now assistance... A good, old-fashioned, user-friendly website. That's right. Website. And it doesn't even have a clever moniker.

Preowned Wedding Dresses (preownedweddingdresses.com) does pretty much precisely what it sounds like. It's a site that aggregates dresses from brides across the country to sell them to the next round of brides-to-be at a fraction of the cost. Truth be told, this is not an earth shattering concept. What it is however, is smart. It's economical. It's easy to use.

wedding dress resale

The site allows visitors to buy and sell preowned wedding dresses. A Craiglist of sorts for the newly engaged and recently hitched. If you're interested in purchasing a gown, you can search options by designer, size, new this week or advanced search (which allows you to enter designer, price range, height, usage and more). You can even set up a "dress alert" so when the Vera Wang gown you've been drooling over pops up, you can be the first to snatch it!

When we browsed the inventory, we saw looks by Monique Lhuillier, Vera Wang, Lazaro, Pnina Tornai and many more. All styles were around 50% off (some were 25%-65%, but a majority fell around 50% off). In addition to bridal gowns, Pre Owned Wedding Dresses also resells bridesmaid, mother of the bride and flower girl gowns.

The site also makes selling a used gown pretttttty easy too. The site charges a one-time listing fee for an easy 25 bones... Dresses stay up until they sell, or until you remove the listing. The listings receive an average of 2000 views each with an average sell time is 70 days. Over 25,000 (!!) gowns have been sold through through Pre Owned Wedding Dresses. NO commission on the sale (yippieee!).

Pre Owned Wedding Dresses is our favorite option, but also check out Once Wed, Tradesy and Nearly New Wed which are also offer discounted gowns. Happy hunting!
