The joy of a sit-down Wedding Breakfast is the opportunity to have a really good chat with old and new friends who have all been brought together through the love of one couple. And of course, in such a lively and convivial atmosphere, you might well want to talk across the table as well as to your next door neighbours without any flowers getting in the way! So to add height and glamour to the venue, many brides choose to integrate tall wedding table decorations. Not every table has to have them; you could have a mix of low and tall which would provide visual interest and add a less corporate vibe.

There are some fabulous vases and ideas out there so I've collated a few for your perusal, starting with my favourite, the oversized Martini glass! You can see how the clever Helen Jane Floristry has created a low sympathetic table decoration for the top table, whilst adding great dollops of glorious height and colour on the other tables in this otherwise neutral venue.

For a winter wedding, you might well want to use candelabras which of course give an even greater height and a wonderful feel when the candles are lit. For the eagle-eyed amongst you it will be noted that these two displays use the same candelabra; the more gothic design of the black and white wedding sits on a silver plate, creating a better visual balance and in keeping with the colour theme and drama of the amazing wallpaper. I love this spherical flower arrangement above (from Helen Jane Floristry again) atop the tall glass vase; all the better for not being able to see the stems, I always think, but that's just a personal preference. The coral peonies look super next to the pink hydrangeas spotted with green - what a fabulous combo.

And then what about this uber skinny vase brimming over with Baby's Breath? Taken by The Siners Photography for Tara Nicole Weddings and Events, this tall centrepiece is almost effervescent in its bridal beauty.
