Ideas for a Purple Wedding Theme

A purple wedding theme probably isn't for shrinking violets!

But if you want to create some spectacular images for your wedding day, then it's an impressive colour to work with, particularly for your bridesmaid bouquets.

I loved these photographs taken by Laura Jane Petelko. The purple bridesmaid dresses and bouquets work together perfectly and the bride's bouquet blends the whole look.

You'll find plenty of purple blooms for your bouquets. The ones featured here are orchids, but you could consider delphiniums, hydrangeas, lilacs, pansies ... As for mauve or violet bridesmaid frocks and flowergirl dresses, Dessy has some beautiful gowns in both long and cocktail styles.



The lilac theme continues through to the wedding reception in spectacular fashion. Wedding lighting effects are something you should talk to your wedding planner or venue about, as the right lighting can turn a relatively ordinary room into something very special.
